Aomori Aomori is a reflection on an individual’s internal landscape, memory, person, place and the two parallel natural landscapes of Aomori Japan and Snowdonia Wales. From vertical to horizontal, the body becomes space and space is transformed into body. In repetition, the movement assumes a sensibility and sensuality of an internal landscape, reflecting the soul of Aomori, the silent repetition of snowfall.
With Tsugaru teodori dancer Yoshiya Ishikawa, Tsugaru Shamisen-Hasegawa Sangen-kai and minyo singer Kiyoko Goto from Aomori, the performance brings together an international cast of ten dancers, musicians and singers alongside local performers to create a perceptive celebration of landscapes remembered and architectural locations. Arriving in Aomori is like going home.
Aomori Aomoriは、個人の内に秘めた風景や記憶、人と場所、そして日本の青森と
ウェールズのスノードニアという2つの並存した自然風景が反映されています。
垂直から並行へと、肉体は空間となり、空間は肉体へと変化していきます。その繰り返しの中で、動きは、青森の魂と静かに降り続く雪の姿を反映しながら、内面的風景の繊細さと官能を表現しています。
青森の津軽手踊りの踊り手である石川義野氏、津軽三味線　長谷川三絃会、津軽民謡の謳い手後藤清子氏とともに、上演は、国際色溢れる10名のダンサー、演奏者、謳い手と並んで現地の参加者をひとつにし、記憶の中にある風景と建築的な空間の知覚的な祝祭の場を創りあげました。
青森を訪れることは、ふるさとへ帰るのと似ているのです。

O fertigol i lorweddol, mae’r corff yn dod yn ofod a chaiff gofod ei weddnewid yn gorff. Wrth ei ailadrodd, mae’r symudiad yn cymryd arno’i hun synwyrusrwydd a chnawdolrwydd tirwedd mewnol, gan adlewyrchu enaid Aomori, sy’n ailadrodd cawodydd distaw eira di-ben-draw.

A focus of detail a Tsugaru ‘hand dance’, from vertical to horizontal a choreographic process of translation and understanding, a gesture in repetition, a juxtaposition of organized systems, balanced on a fine line between order and chaos, being and nothingness, a transitional simplicity.

津軽手踊りの細部への注目、解釈や理解としての垂直から水平へと変化する振り付け、繰り 返されるしぐさ、組織された構造の並列、秩序と混沌の均衡が取れた一線、存在と無、移り 変わる単一性。

Gan ganolbwyntio ar fanylyn, ‘dawns llaw’ Tsugaru, o’r fertigol i’r llorweddol, coreograffi o drosi a deall, ystum yn cael ei ailadrodd, systemau trefnus wedi’u cyfosod, ar linell fain rhwng trefn ac anhrefn, bodolaeth a diddymdra, symlrwydd trosiannol.

Framing a work of emotive containment, where movement, voice, sound and silence become multidimensional. Listening to those little things that move us from the inside, everyday making small discoveries.

私たちを内側から動かすこういった小さな声に耳を傾けることで、毎日小さな発見をしてい くこと。動き、声、音そして静寂が多次元となるところへ、感情の抑制された作品をかたちづくること。

EILIR PIERCE
AOMORI AOMORI DOCUMENTARY

This year, documentary filmmaker Eilir Pierce collaborated in Sioned Huws’ dance project ‘Aomori Aomori’.  His film follows an international cast of musicians, dancers and singers who reunite to perform in Aomori, a place where this work began, from Sioned’s first experience of the harsh arctic conditions of the Tōhoku region of North Japan back in 2008. Like Aomori’s never ending snowstorms, the project itself is revealed as both beautiful and physically challenging in this intimate film.
Y gwneuthurwr ffilmiau dogfen, Eilir Pierce, oedd y diweddaraf i gydweithio â Sioned Huws ar ei phrosiect dawns, ‘Aomori Aomori’ eleni.  Mae ei ffilm yn dilyn cast rhyngwladol o gerddorion, dawnswyr a chantorion sy’n dod at ei gilydd i berfformio yn Aomori, sef y man lle plannwyd yr hadyn ar gyfer y darn unigryw hwn ar ôl i Sioned Huws brofi amodau arctig llym rhanbarth Tōhoku yng Ngogledd Japan am y tro cyntaf yn ôl yn 2008. Fel stormydd eira diddiwedd Aomori, mae’r prosiect ei hun yn cael ei amlygu fel rhywbeth sy’n hyfryd yn ogystal â chorfforol heriol yn y ffilm bersonol hon.
